Britannia Heights Veterinary Clinic - Our Staff

Practice Manager

Shannon's passion for animals started at a very young age with an undeniable love for horses. When it was time to think of a career all she wanted to do was work with horses. Shannon's post secondary education started with a two year program in equine message therapy after which she worked on a racehorse breeding farm. Shortly after that Shannon got a job working in a veterinary emergency clinic and soon learned that she had quite a passion for medicine. Shannon went back to school for veterinary technology and has now worked in emergency medicine, veterinary day practice and animal shelter environments. Shannon has recently adopted a kitten, she was "petless" for over a year and we all know that doesn't last long when working in the veterinary industry. While she misses having a dog around she thought a kitten might be the practical pet for her current lifestyle. Well so much for that... Her new kitten Prewitt is certainly not for the faint of heart. This little Bengle has stolen her heart and has proven to be quite the "dog" type kitten. He loves visiting the clinic and going on adventures to the pet store and Chapters. We hope he keeps up his regular visits with us, he sure is a little love bug with lots to say.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Julisa grew up in Jamaica where she studied human medicine throughout high school and college. Julisa came to Canada in 2014 and gained an interest in Veterinary Medicine. She then attended and graduated from Algonquin College in June 2018, obtaining her Veterinary Technician Diploma.  Julisa became part of the Britannia Heights Veterinary Clinic team in May 2018 while doing her clinical placement.  Julisa enjoys her down time at home with her two cats and six gold fish.

Veterinary Receptionist

Taylor graduated from Carleton University in 2017 with an honors degree in Communications and Media Studies. While searching for her next step she spent much of her time volunteering at the Ottawa Humane Society in the Canine Enrichment Program. Shortly after, she started a one year contract at the OHS as a Client Service Representative. Taylor learned so much in such a short period of time with the OHS that she wanted to take that somewhere with her where she could also pursue her love of animals. Taylor joined the Britannia Heights Veterinary Clinic team in August of 2019 and loves meeting all of our patients. Taylor have a soft spot for all things canine and currently shares her home with one cat who thinks she is a dog.
